Honda HR-V

After abandoning the small SUV market just before it took off in the UK, Honda is back in the small SUV segment with its new HR-V. The SUV crossover will rival bestsellers including Nissan’s Juke. It’s a very important car for Honda and will feature the Japanese manufacturer’s clever flip-up ‘magic’ flexible seats. Read more here

Jaguar XE

The most exciting introduction at this year’s Paris show, for us Brits in any case. Jaguar continues its quest to make the finest executive cars with the introduction of its BMW 3-series-rivalling XE model. It’s lightweight, looks great and is powered by a range of new engines, which Jaguar is calling Ingenium. It may as well be called unobtainium, the waiting list will be so long.

Mazda MX-5

A cult following for the world’s best-selling two-seater sports car means Mazda will want to be certain it’s maintained the magic formula that has seen its MX-5 endure so long. The sixth generation model comes with specially-tuned engines and chassis. The car weighs 100kg less than the outgoing model, so should be more fun than ever.

Skoda Fabia

Skoda is no longer a budget brand, but it still promises great value. The new Fabia is the next Skoda to take the Czech brand further upmarket. It’s as good-looking as it’s siblings in the VW group and is almost certain to be a cracking little car. Seriously, does this look like a cheap car to you?

Volvo XC-90

The new XC-90 is the car that should ensure Volvo is back as a key player in the premium car market. The new XC90 will be more luxurious than any Volvo before it and heralds a whole new beginning for the Swedish brand. Volvo sold the first 1,927 First Edition cars online in less than 24 hours.
